YAMS AND IT'S DELICACIES......................

System of preserving yams in my land (benin city)
Nigerians are well known for yams. But in benin city where i come from, we grow varieties of yams like, yellow yam (ikpe)and among the whites in our local name is ikale igiowa, iyawo-omorotionvban, emowe and a few others.
 The yam have so many ways of preparing it.
1) Roasting and eating with palm oil and salt. You can add pepper if you wish.
2) You can pound smoot ( pounded yam) and eaten with soup,
3) It can be dried and processed into flower (it is usually prepared as food by turning into a worm water staring, put on fire and allow to heat up while staring continuously, which is called elubor in benin city). 4) It can be boiled and eaten with vegetable stew, source or owio.
5) Portage and some few others.

         We are going to write on how to cook all of this one after the other in my subsequent blogs
